Hello, everyone!

The smoke test has gone out, last-minute changes and edits have been made, and we are preparing to send out the remainder of the BackerKit surveys. With this comes some VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION that we would like you all to read, as it will help answer many of your questions. It is long and maybe boring, and some of you are familiar with the process, so it may seem obvious, but please stick with us until the end. 

Covered in this update are:

FINDING YOUR SURVEY

Emails should look something like this and are sent from [email protected]

I DON'T SEE AN EMAIL WITH A LINK TO MY SURVEY

  • First, please check the email address you use for your Kickstarter account. Many people have multiple email accounts, and you should verify which is linked to Kickstarter. 
  • Second, check your SPAM and/or PROMOTIONAL folders. 
  • Third, if you are an Apple user, check that you did not use the Apple "hide my email" feature with your Kickstarter account. If you used this, Apple will not allow the survey email to be delivered to you. We recommend changing this email to ensure you get all future communication regarding this project

IF YOU STILL DO NOT SEE THE SURVEY, please email [email protected] with your Kickstarter User Name, Backer Number, and email address associated with your Kickstarter account, and we can help you receive your survey.

Important Note - If you only pledged $1 for this campaign, you will NOT receive an invitation to the Pledge Manager, as only $5 pledges and above receive those.

SWITCHING PLEDGE LEVELS

When you first go to BackerKit, you will be asked to "Log In" or "Continue as Guest." We recommend logging in so you can return to your survey in the future. Please make sure to log in with the same email address you use on Kickstarter!

When you log in, the first thing you should see, on both Desktop and Mobile, is the campaign image and a big green button that says "Get Started!". Directly underneath that button is a teensy little link that says "or Switch your Pledge Level >>." If you pledged for the $5 Pledge Manager Access, you MUST switch your pledge level, or the only item you will have access to is the Unchained Expansion to DTA. (If this is the only item you are interested in, you can leave the pledge level alone).

If you have already pushed the big green "Get Started!" button, you can still switch your pledge level by clicking on the teal reward description at the top of the page and then clicking on the "Switch Pledge Levels?" button on the pop-up.

Limited Quantity Items

Some items, such as playmats, may have limited quantities available. This means that no more will be available for this campaign once they are all claimed.

No Split Shipping

Any items pledged for in BackerKit will not ship until this project is fulfilled. We cannot split any pledges to multiple locations or ship in-stock items early. If you would like to receive existing products sooner, please order those directly from www.dicethrone.com

Shipping Costs/Tax Calculations

Shipping and VAT/Taxes are calculated based on your SHIPPING ADDRESS. This means that shipping costs may appear at $1000 per pledge level and an additional add-on until you enter the correct shipping address. If you have entered your address wholly and the shipping costs are still at or above $1000, please email [email protected]. It likely means that you are trying to select a country that we are not able to ship rewards to. VAT/Taxes are collected and remitted in countries and states that we are required to collect/remit in.

Payment Processing/Finalizing Survey

CHANGE FROM PREVIOUS DICE THRONE CAMPAIGNS - When you complete and finalize your survey, you will be charged IMMEDIATELY for the balance due in your cart. Your survey will be locked, and you can no longer change the items in your pledge. YOU WILL STILL BE ABLE TO EDIT THE SHIPPING ADDRESS. If you want to make additional changes to your survey before the project rewards ship, please DO NOT finalize your pledge details immediately. A notice will go out 48 hours before we lock pledges manually for fulfillment.

Survey Closing Date -TBA

We aim to leave the Pledge Manager open for as long as possible. This means we do not have a specific date for manually closing it, but we will notify everyone once we have more information. You will also receive an email from BackerKit 48 hours before the surveys close.

We were at PAX Unplugged last week and had a great time demoing Dice Throne and showing off the sample of Outcasts. Watch our recap video:

Quick Pledge Manager Update

Hello!

We just wanted to send a quick update to let you know that we are still working on getting the pledge manager fully set up, and will be sending that out next week now instead. We will have another update next week when it goes live with full instructions for those who have are new to using a pledge manager.

We expect to send the "Smoke Test" to 5% of backers on Wednesday December 11, and if there are no issues we expect to send the rest of the survey emails out on Friday December 13. What could possibly go wrong on Friday the 13th for a spooky themed campaign?

If you will be attending PAX Unplugged in Philadelphia this weekend, stop in and say hello to the parts of the team that are there, and take a look at the sample of the Strongbox! Booth #2232!

NOVEMBER 18TH - That's a Wrap!

Whew, what a journey it's been! Let’s take a moment to appreciate the past few weeks together. This campaign has been an unforgettable adventure, and it’s all thanks to you! From unraveling puzzles to thrilling showdowns, we hope there’s been something for everyone to enjoy along the way. And now, on to some news!

One Big Happy Family!

Our Necromancer definitely feels a close connection to his army, to the point that he commissioned a family portrait! You will be able to find this "hanging" on one of the Necromancer's two leaflets when your game arrives! 

They really captured the glow in all their eyes, didn't they?

Poll Winner #1!

Big thanks to Nick for getting this prepped in time to share it today at the end of the campaign. Get ready to grab some treasure from the Dragon's Den!

Poll Winner #2!

It was a close race on this one, but the Raveness won our TableTop Simulator poll! We will work to get her added to the official Dice Throne mod on TTS. Our goal is to have this implemented by January 1st, but if we are able to do it sooner than that, we will let you know!

What happens next?

There is a lot for us to work on behind the scenes now that the campaign is over. We will be working on setting up the pledge manager (BackerKit), and there will be an update when that is all ready to go! We will also be going over all of the parts and pieces of this project in detail so we can get all of the final files to the factory and get production rolling!


From here on out, you can expect regular updates once a month. Some may contain important information about finalizing dates, while others may just check in to let you know things are progressing. We will do our best to label the most important ones "IMPORTANT" in the header so you don't miss those!

NOVEMBER 17 - Outcasts Strongbox Exclusive Artwork Reveal!

The Limited Edition Strongbox will now include something that we are excited to bring back, a peak into some Dice Throne lore! On the inside of the lid we will now include a comic about these new characters. The new Strongbox design gives us a unique opportunity to give you this comic in a way that doesn't require you to find somewhere to keep it, and makes opening the game every time you play a chance to enjoy some story time and time again.

We want this to be a fun surprise when you open your box, so we are going to "keep a lid on this" for right now and let you discover it on your own when you unbox this! After fulfillment, it will be available on our website along with previous comics so that everyone can enjoy. We will also be numbering each lid as well, so you will forever have a unique piece of Dice Throne history.

Whether adventuring on your own or with a group, One-Shot mode will give you an opportunity to foray into a dungeon and still be back in time for dinner!

Watch Manny, Co-Creator and Lead Artist, take on the perils of The Depths! Anyone who has been around the Dice Throne communities online likely knows that Manny loves (and we mean seriously LOVES) the Barbarian. And since we just revealed an alternate art playerboard (see yesterday's post regarding Organized Play for details), Manny decided now would be a great time to see how our intrepid hero does with a few arrows stuck in him!
